Nutrition Program

Many nonprofit organizations must rely heavily on people desiring to volunteer their time and service. Our greatest need for volunteers is in our nutrition program. Delivery of meals to homebound elder consumers allows them to remain in their own home in the least restrictive setting.

Volunteer opportunities exist in the following communities:

Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) "Empowering Seniors to Prevent Healthcare Fraud"

The Senior Medicare Patrol program is designed to empower seniors and their caregivers through increased awareness and understanding of healthcare programs.

This program is funded in part by a grant from the Administration on Aging and locally our Agency has trained volunteers to help Medicare beneficiaries understand their Medicare Summary Notices, detect and resolve unintended errors and teach them how to protect their personal information.

Volunteers can provide community education programs and handouts at workshops, fairs and conventions. If you have questions, are interested in volunteering or would like to schedule a speaker, please call 800-292-1268 for more information.
