History
Area Agencies on Aging (AAA’s) were created through the legislation included in the Older Americans Act of 1965, As Amended.
Nationally, there are some 600+ AAA’s. In Iowa, there are thirteen Area Agency’s on Aging geographically defined in what are called planning and service areas (PSA’s). Each agency will serve multiple counties within the state and offer similar services. Specific information about a service in a specific county is best obtained by visiting the Area Agency on Aging serving your area or the area of the person for which you are seeking information.
